Supporting adults across the lifespan with speech, language, communication, and social communication — through a respectful, strengths-based approach.

Prairie Basic offers speech-language services for teens and adults, supporting communication, participation, and quality of life across the lifespan. Services are provided using a client-centred, neurodiversity-affirming approach and are tailored to individual goals and strengths.

Areas of Support Include:

  • Aphasia (language changes following stroke or brain injury)

  • Motor Speech Disorders, including:

    • Apraxia of Speech

    • Dysarthria

  • Cognitive-Communication Disorders (attention, memory, problem-solving, and communication)

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for teens and adults

  • Accent Modification (communication clarity and confidence)

  • Social Communication Support for Teens and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, with a focus on self-advocacy, connection, and authentic communication — not masking or compliance
